This year we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of our Collection of contemporary photography. We are taking advantage of this occasion to look at our own collection through different eyes and have therefore chosen to present it under the motto "from another perspective". We have invited external experts to share their views of the collection with us, allowing us to gain new insights and a fresh perspective on the extensive collection of photographs.

For this exhibition, we invited Deutsche Börse employees to name their personal favourites from the Collection. The 40 presented works are the result of their submissions and showcase which of the photographs are particularly inspiring to our colleagues, who are surrounded by art at all the company's locations every day, both in their offices and as they walk through the buildings. The displayed works were supplemented with the employees' quotations explaining their selection. With the resulting presentation, we are carrying on the continuous dialogue we have maintained with our staff since the very start of the Collection. This stimulating, constructive and at times challenging exchange is an elementary and extremely enriching aspect of our work. This concept of allowing our employees to share in the activities of the Art Collection is essential if we want the photographs to play a role in the company in the long term: corporate culture in the making.

The Art Collection Deutsche Börse currently comprises more than 1,800 works by around 130 artists from 27 nations and is growing continuously. New artistic positions broaden the scope of the Collection, while additions to groups of work by artists already represented in the Art Collection provide further depth. The central theme remains the contemplation and exploration of the "condition humana", the conditions of human existence and of people's ways of adapting to their environment.
