Our commitment is directed to contemporary photography

As a non-profit organisation, the work of the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation centres on collecting, exhibiting and promoting photographic art work. With the Art Collection Deutsche Börse it has compiled an internationally renowned collection of contemporary photography, comprising more than 2,400 works by around 170 artists from more than 40 nations.

Visit the exhibitions “Worlds within Worlds” and “Human Topographies” without prior registration. Guided tours are offered every hour. As a special highlight, artists from the exhibition “Worlds within Worlds” will be in conversation with students from the curatorial team about the exhibition concept as well as their individual artistic practices.

The exhibition features works by 14 students from the photography department at the University of Art and Design Offenbach (HfG), curated by students of the Master’s programme Curatorial Studies, run jointly by Goethe University and Städelschule Frankfurt.

We are presenting 70 works from the Art Collection Deutsche Börse, illustrating the diverse facets of environments shaped by humankind. The exhibition features images dating from the 1950s to the present day by more than 25 international artists.

In her very personal project, the Hungarian artist uses a visual language that is both direct and deeply affecting to challenge romanticised portrayals of motherhood, addressing taboos such as the loss of autonomy, physical and emotional exhaustion, and the tensions between self-realisation and caregiving.

Curatorial Fellowship

We are delighted to announce Raquel Villar-Pérez as the first international Curatorial Fellow of the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation.

New York Vibes

Over several decades, the American photographer Jamel Shabazz documented Black communities in New York City. He portrays the vibrant streets as places of community and as points of origin for cultural expressions such as hip hop and breakdance. His photographs are both historical testimonies and means of self‑empowerment.
