The core objective of the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation is its commitment to developing and promoting contemporary photography. The Foundation’s support initiatives include awards, scholarships and the presentation of works by young talents as well as events which promote the academic dialogue on the subject of photography. They are developed with partners from an international network of museums, universities and other institutions. Together with The Photographers’ Gallery in London, the Foundation annually awards the renowned Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize. Since 2017, it has been supporting the “Foam Talent” programme for young artists, which is organised by the Fotografiemuseum in Amsterdam. Regionally, the foundation is committed to the Frankfurter Künstlerhilfe and, together with the Offenbach University of Art and Design (HfG), annually organizes the "Fotoförderpreis" for young students. The Foundation also collaborates with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Photographie (German Photography Society, DGPh) on two awards for publications reflecting upon the medium of photography.
